Meet Lorena (26) @ Chargetrip 🙌
Chargetrip makes smart navigation software for electric mobility. There are a lot more elements that come into play when you start driving electric. Chargetrip tackles these problems in order to make it easier to switch to electrical vehicles.
Looking back over the past 6 months: what skills did you gain?
“Over the past 6 months, I have learned a lot. All the technologies we use were new to me. I learned how to write in JavaScript, how to work with GraphQL (I also wrote a small GraphQLl API myself), Mapbox, and much more.
My internship was mainly focused on making our API integrator proof. Of course, I did not only learn technical skills, but also got a chance to improve my communication skills and feel what it is like to work in a professional setting.”
What was your favourite moment during your internship?
“My favourite moment during my internship was when I gave a presentation about our consumption model to the entire company. I had been researching the math behind our consumption model and wanted to share what I had learned with the team. I really enjoyed gaining this knowledge and being able to share that in a way that everyone could learn a bit more about it.”
How have you changed during your internship?
“I would not say I have changed, but I feel like I have grown a lot during my internship. Not only my skills, but I am more sure of what I want in the world of tech.”
What was the toughest challenge during your internship?
“I think the toughest challenge was to get started, there was a steep learning curve as everything was new and I was starting my internship from home. But if any place prepares you for these unusual circumstances it is Codam.”
What surprised you the most, either about yourself or about the internship?
“What surprised me the most was how open the team was, also to my feedback. I really feel like I am part of the team :).”
If your internship coordinator would describe you in one sentence, what would he/she say?
The co-founder of the company told me: “Lorena is an awesome person to have on board, she is smart, high spirited, a team player, great at figuring things out, eager to learn from other team members, and most important she likes electric camper vans!”
What are your next steps?
“After my internship, I will start working full time at Chargetrip. I also wish to continue doing projects at Codam in my free time.”
